Ichiro Suzuki played baseball professionally for an incredible 28 years. He spent the first 9 years in the Japanese Nippon Professional Baseball league before moving to the United States and playing for the Seattle Mariners in 2001. He was the first Japanese-born position player to be posted and signed to an MLB club. In his rookie season (2001) in the MLB he led the American League in batting average and stolen bases, ultimately winning ROY & MVP. During his career he received 17 consecutive selections as both an All-Star and Gold Glove winner, was named MVP 4 times. Suzuki is noted for his longevity as he was still able to produce a high batting average into his mid-40s. This Gold Glove Award ball has been signed by Suzuki in a blue marker.
