1957 All Star Game Team Signed Baseball Elston Howard Nellie Foxx Yogi Berra PSA
1957 American League All-Star Team Signed Baseball. The 1957 Midsummer Classic at Sportsman's Park changed the way All-Star voting is done when it was discovered that the Cincinnati Enquirer printed up pre-marked ballots for fans to use. The result was that seven Reds were voted in as starters, with Stan Musial as the only outsider. Commissioner Ford Frick overrode the fans and substituted Hank Aaron and Willie Mays into the starting lineup for two of the Reds. Fans regained their voting 1970 but only after certain safeguards were installed. This Official National League (Giles) baseball is signed by twenty-six in ballpoint ink. Included are: Mossi, Triandos, Minoso, (2) Jim Bunning, Al Kaline, Shantz, (2) Elston Howard, Loes, Grim, DeMaestri, Pierce, Sievers, Nellie Fox, Skowron, Maxwell, Gil McDougald, Early Wynn, George Kell, Harvey Kuenn, Malzone, Yogi Berra, Bobby Richardson and two more.
