The Oakland Athletics is one of the most historic franchises in Major League Baseball history, holding eight World Series titles dating back to the advent of the Fall Classic. Under the ownership and management of Connie Mack from 1901-1950, the A's won five World Series with Hall of Famers Jimmie Foxx, Mickey Cochrane, Eddie Collins, Home Run Baker, Eddie Plank and Lefty Grove leading the way among many others. The A's would not reach the Fall Classic again, after the 1930 title, until 1972, having relocated to Kansas City in 1955 and then again to Oakland in 1968. Since landing in Oakland in '68, the Athletics have captured five American League pennants and four more World Series titles, including three straight from 1972-74. Presented here is a 1973 World Series championship team. 1973 World Series champions baseball featuring Gene Tenace, Vida Blue and Bert Campaneris as well as Hall of Famers Dick Williams (mgr.)
