Ken Boyer 1954 Rookie Game Issued Louisville Slugger Baseball Bat PSA DNA COA

$499.00

Ken Boyer H&B signature-model ("S2") bat dating from the 1954 manufacturing period. Deemed Authentic by PSA/DNA. The absence of a numerical grade is predicated solely upon the fact that the bat shows no use, but PSA/DNA has asserted in its letter of authenticity that the bat meets the specifications of those ordered by Boyer during the referenced labeling period. Aside from its lack of use, the bat is a picture-perfect Boyer pro-model bat. The bat is not cracked and is in Excellent condition overall, with a PSA/DNA sticker (bat authentication) affixed to the handle. The bats model number ("S2") is stamped in the knob end. Boyer debuted with the Cardinals on April 12, 1955, and his rookie campaign foreshadowed his stellar career. The slick-fielding third baseman batted .264 with 18 home runs and 62 RBI in 1955. Boyer remained a fixture in the Cardinals lineup for the next ten years. During that span he appeared in seven All-Star Games, won five Gold Glove Awards, and was voted the National League's Most Valuable Player in 1964. He finished his career in 1969 with 282 home runs, 1,141 RBI, and a .287 lifetime batting average. Length: 36 inches. Weight: 34.6 ounces. Full LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA.
