Surely the offered magazine was already printed by the time Michael Jordan announced his return to the Chicago Bulls in March of 1995, or the cover caption would read "I'm Back". Instead, this 3/20/95 edition of Sports Illustrated features an illustration of Jordan emulating Superman, along with the caption "It's SuperMichael...Or is it?. The question was answered on 3/18/95, with Jordan's two-word press release "I'm Back". Jordan had already won a "Threepeat" of NBA championships from 1991-1993. During his first retirement, "His Airness" took up professional baseball. Basketball fans everywhere were thankful that didn't work out, as Jordan's return to the NBA resulted in a second glorious "Threepeat" of championships from 1996-1998. Recall a sign of good things to come, with this Jordan signed 3/20/95 Sport Illustrated issue. Addressed to preeminent sports reporter Howard Eskin, at KYW-TV in Philadelphia, this well-preserved magazine takes the bidding court in (EX-MT+) condition.
