$24,995.00

Hall of Fame forward Larry Bird wore this jersey during the 1987-88 NBA season, his ninth in the league. The three-time MVP set a new career-high for points in 1987-88, averaging a staggering 29.9 points per contest. For good measure, the Indiana State product added 9.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game while making the ninth of his 12 career All-Star Games. Bird also achieved the rare feat of a “50/40/90” season in 1987-88, shooting over 50% from the field, 40% from three, and 90% from the free throw line in the same season. He had founded the club the year prior and is one of only two players to achieve the feat more than once, including Steve Nash.

Bird led the Celtics to the playoffs in 1987-88, defeating the Hawks and Knicks in the first two rounds. The Atlantic Division champions faced the “Bad Boy” Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals, where they succumbed to the younger Pistons in a hard-fought six-game series.

This white size 46 home jersey was worn by Bird during the 1987-88 season and has “CELTICS” arched across the chest and sewn on in green tackle twill with Bird’s number “33” on the chest below, also sewn on in green tackle twill. The back of the jersey has “BIRD” and a “33” sewn on in green tackle twill. The NBA logo is embroidered on the left shoulder of the sleeveless jersey. “87”, “2 LB,” "Sand-Knit 46”, and “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the BOSTON CELTICS” tags are sewn on the front left tail of this jersey. This jersey displays moderate game use and comes with a LOA from MEARS (318474) for the game use, having been given the highest possible grade of A10.
