This historic Official American League William Harridge baseball has been signed by the then retired stars of the New York Yankees & Chicago White Sox at a reunion game between the two teams August 25, 1956, at Yankee Stadium.  Its signees represent decades of Major League playing years from 1908 (Home Run Baker) to the early 1950s (Allie Reynolds). Those signing are 3 members of the infamous Black Sox team of the 1919 World Series (2 that are Hall-of-Famers) and 6 Hall-of-Famers: Home Run Frank Baker (led the league in home runs for 4 straight years from 1911 to 1914, with 130 RBIs in 1912), Urban Red Faber (spent his entire 20 year Major League career with the White Sox from 1914 to 1933 winning 20+ games 4 times...Faber had the flu & had to sit out the 1919 World Series - it has been said that he would have pitched in place of Lefty Williams & there might not have been a fix), Ray Schalk (starting catcher for the  White Sox for 14 years, including the 1919 World Series), Lefty Gomez (20+ game winner 4 times including a league-leading 26-5 record & ERA 2.33 in 1934), Earle Combs (lifetime .325 batting average), and Leo Durocher. In addition, Dickie Kerr, a teammate of Shoeless Joe Jackson, has signed; he was a starting pitcher in the infamous 1919 World Series for the White Sox. Others signing are: Ben Bengough, rare autograph of Wally Pipp (After Pipp had been a starter for 10 years at 1st base for the Yankees, Lou Gehrig won the position in 1925), Lew Fonseca (career .316 batting average), Jimmie Dykes, Allie Reynolds (182-107 career pitching record),  Hank Borowy, Bob Shawkey (20-game winner 4 times for the Yankees), Monty Stratton (lost his leg in a hunting accident in 1938, but with a prosthetic leg was still able to play minor league baseball from 1946-1953...A movie was made about his life called "The Stratton Story"), Red Rolfe (starting 3rd baseman from 1934-1941 for the Yankees & led the league in hits with 213 in 1939), & Tom Henrich. The Yankees won the game 4-1. The ball itself is in excellent condition, as you can see, and the signatures have been authenticated by PSA and JSA.
