The San Francisco 49ers defeated the San Diego Chargers 49–26 in Super Bowl XXIX, becoming the first team to win five Super Bowl championships. Quarterback Steve Young was named the Super Bowl MVP, throwing a Super Bowl-record six touchdown passes and completing 24 out of 36 passes for 325 yards.
Presented is a Wilson football that has been signed by 45 members of the Super Bowl XXIX champion San Francisco 49ers. The ball has two white panels and "SAN FRANCISCO FORTY NINERS" printed in large red print on the "Wilson" panel. All of the signatures have been signed in black ink and include Hall of Famers Steve Young, Jerry Rice, and Richard Dent. Other signatures include John Taylor, Gary Plummer, Rickey Jackson, Tim Harris, Dana Hall, Dexter Carter, Jesse Sapolu, Troy Wilson, Nate Singleton, Kevin Mitchell, and several others.
