Official American League ball signed on separate panels by two iconic Rock & Roll legends: Stevie Ray Vaughan (1954-1990) and Joe Cocker (1944-2014). Both Vaughan and Cocker have signed the ball in black ink, and each has added the inscription "90," which denotes the year in which the two performed together on tour. Both signatures are boldly scripted and grade "10." This is an extremely rare dual-signed ball and the only example we have ever seen, let alone offered. This ball has a unique and ideal, well-documented provenance. Our consignor attended the Stevie Ray Vaughan concert on July 3, 1990, at the Champlain Valley Fairgrounds in Essex Junction, Vermont. Along with his ticket to the concert (accompanying the ball), our consignor was armed with a backstage pass (the consignor has chosen at this time to keep the backstage pass). In anticipation of meeting Vaughan, he packed a baseball in the hope that the legend would sign it. His dream came true, Vaughan flawlessly signed the sweet spot of the ball! He then proceeded to get Cocker to sign the side panel, which he signed slowly and carefully (most Cocker signatures seen in the marketplace are not legible). Tragically, less than two months after this concert, Vaughan was killed in a helicopter crash on August 27, 1990. Vaughan-signed baseballs are extremely rare and virtually none have the remarkable provenance of this example. The ball is bright, crisp, and clean. The ticket stub is encapsulated and certified as Authentic by PSA. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Total: 2 items (signed ball and ticket stub).
