Presented is the chance to possess a circa 1940 Babe Ruth single-signed baseball that comes with both a charming and detailed provenance of the autograph, which was obtained by a young man in North Conway, New Hampshire. The included signed provenance is a copy of a May 19, 2006, handwritten, four-page letter written by Harry F. Foyzelle Jr., whose baseball was signed by the Babe. Quoting the letter, in part: "I believe the year was 1941 - I was living in Fryeburg, Maine and I had a friend named Chester Harry Eastman.... The weekly newspaper, was the Fryeburg Reporter... and the front page was a picture of Babe Ruth and an article advertising his golfing in North Conway, NH the next two days...." The letter recalls that the next day, the two young men biked 12 miles to the golf club in North Conway and spoke to a man at the reception desk, stating that they had biked 12 miles and couldn't stay long and wanted to get Babe Ruth's autograph. The man spoke to Ruth who sent back word to the boys that he was at a cocktail party and couldn't leave, but if they came back tomorrow he "would stop playing immediately and meet with us."

The next morning, the two young man got a ride in from Harry Foyzelle's father and went to the country club in North Conway. About 300 persons were watching Ruth play golf. The boys sent word to Ruth, who, good to his word, stopped play, sat with them on a bench. The enclosed letter continues, "Chester Harry presented his ball that he had purchased from the drug store - which Babe Ruth signed. I presented my baseball - An American League Ball that had been caught at Fenway park. Babe Ruth said this was the real McCoy. He talked with us and my father, asking many questions about what we wanted to do with our lives...." The included letter, read in full, shows Babe Ruth being so wonderful to the boys and Harry's father. It was always said that Babe Ruth was incredible with youngsters, and the enclosed letter confirms that in amazing detail.

The offered signed baseball has "Official American League Ball/Williams Harridge Pres." stamped on the cover, and able to be read. Babe Ruth crafted his big and bold, neat flowing signature in black, fountain ink, on a side panel. The single-signed ball comes with a PSA LOA for the Ruth signature. The ball is a single-signed Babe Ruth ball, with a great backstory showing the Bambino at his finest.
