The “Curse of the Bambino” was finally lifted off the Boston Red Sox in 2004, when they swept the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series to capture their first championship since 1918. Managed by Terry Francona, the Red Sox finished the regular season with a 98–64 record, three games behind the New York Yankees in the American League East. The Red Sox qualified for the postseason as the AL wild card, swept the Anaheim Angels in the ALDS, and faced the Yankees in the ALCS for the second straight year. After losing the first three games to the Yankees and trailing in the ninth inning of the fourth game, the Red Sox became the first team in major league history to come back from a three-game postseason deficit, defeating the Yankees in seven games.

Offered is a jersey celebrating the heroes of the 2004 World Champion Boston Red Sox, a Boston gray road jersey signed by 27 members of the team, including Hall of Fame pitcher Pedro Martinez, David “Big Papi” Ortiz and Manny Ramirez, among others. The players, and manager Terry Francona, have signed their names in two columns down the front of the jersey in blue marker. The jersey has “Boston” in red gothic letters with blue borders embroidered across the front of the six-button jersey. The left right sleeve has a blue, black and white cloth World Series 04” logo patch sewn in, while the left sleeve has a red and blue embroidered “R” Russell logo patch.  The jersey bears the inscription “99/204” in blue marker on the left front below the Russell Athletic washing instructions patch. This item comes with a hologram from Grand Stand Sports and an MLB Authenticated hologram (MT00544491).
