Mitchell & Ness 1939 Boston Red Sox home authentic jersey signed by Ted Williams on the right breast. In addition to signing the jersey in mint blue Sharpie, Williams has also included his 1941 batting average, "406," directly below his name. Williams is the last player in Major League history to hit over .400 for a season. This is the first example of a Williams signed jersey we can recall seeing that includes a special "406" notation, making it especially rare and desirable. It should be noted that our consignor obtained this signature in person at a signing show during the 1980s, at which time he requested that Williams add the "406" below his name.
