This Official American League Ban Johnson stamped baseball was used during the July 29th, 1911 game that saw Boston Red Sox’s Smoky Joe Wood hurl a no-hitter against the visiting St. Louis Browns at Huntington Avenue Baseball Grounds. Wood’s no-hitter included 2 walks and 12 strikeouts in Boston’s 5-0 victory in the first game of a double-header. This ball displays heavy game use and has been inscribed “July 29, 1911, Won 1st Game Day After Dorothy and Evelyn arrived by Friday Coach by Trenton. Team Score 5-1”. A wonderful piece of baseball history from an early 20th century no-hitter and this comes with a LOA from MEARS (317500) for the game use.
