While 1955 wasn't exactly a banner year for the Chicago Cubs, a shining bright spot came in the form of a breakout season for shortstop Ernie Banks. No "sophomore jinx" could stop "Mr. Cub", who followed up on his 1954 Rookie of the Year campaign, with 44 homers and 117 RBI in 1955. Nab a nice memento of Banks second full MLB season, with this 1955 Cubs team-signed baseball. A total of (29) autographs grace this period signed National League Giles ball. The presence of Hal Rice and Joe Hannah on this ball, indicate it was signed during Spring Training, as both spent the 1955 season with the Cubs PCL affiliate, the Los Angeles Angels. Auction LOA from JSA.
