Historic Clayton Kershaw MLB Debut Signed Inscribed Game Used Base Steiner COA

$16,995.00

A great piece of baseball history. Presented is one of the bases from Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw's very first Major League game. The baseball world was centered on Dodger Stadium on the afternoon of May 25, 2008, when Kershaw took the mound against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals.

Kershaw's story began at Highland Park High School, where he averaged more than two strikeouts per inning and pitched an all-strike-out perfect game in the playoffs before it was prematurely ended out of mercy for the opposing team. USA Today proclaimed him "High School Pitcher of the Year," and the Dodgers shelled out $2.3 million to get his signature on a contract. Kershaw did not disappoint in his debut, as he pitched 6 solid innings, allowing only 2 earned runs on 5 hits and struck out 7 batters as the Dodgers edged the Cardinals 4-3 in 10 innings, with Kershaw getting a no-decision.

This offered base was used for third base during the May 25, 2008, game between the Dodgers and Cardinals at Dodgers Stadium. This base was used for the first six innings when Kershaw was in the game and removed prior to the start of the top of the 7th inning. The top of this base has the commemorative "LOS ANGELES DODGERS 50TH ANNIVERSARY 1958 2008" logo. The base displays excellent use with dirt stains and scuff marks. Kershaw has signed this base in black marker below the anniversary logo and inscribed "1st MLB START 5/28/08 7K's" above the logo. This comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (LH019671), authenticating that this base was used during the May 25, 2008, game and that Kershaw signed this base on May 29, 2008, at a Steiner Sports signing. Additionally, there are two stickers from Steiner Sports, one for the game use and one for Kershaw's signature. Comes with full letter Steiner COA.
