Bob Dillinger H&B signature-model bat issued to him for use in the 1949 All-Star Game, which was held July 30th at Ebbets Field. This is a particularly interesting bat as it is signed in blue or black ink by the following seventeen members of the 1949 American League All-Star team: Ted Williams, George Kell, Larry Doby, Joe Gordon, Bob Lemon, Cy Young, Vern Stephens, Mel Parnell, Birdie Tebbetts, Bob Dillinger, Billy Goodman, Eddie Joost, Vic Wertz, Virgil Trucks, and three others we could not identify. The signatures are slightly faded (some a bit more than others) but most remain clearly legible. Signed All-Star team baseballs from this era are very scarce and desirable, but All-Star team signed bats are virtually nonexistent. This is an extremely attractive signed commemorative piece featuring six Hall of Fame signatures, including Ted Williams and Cy Young. The bat shows light use and appears to have a crack in the handle. There is white paint on both the knob (covers up the model number) and barrel end. Length: 34 inches. Weight: 30.1 ounces. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
