Hall of Famer Derek Jeter made history on July 9th, 2011 when he connected for his 3,000th hit of his storied career. Jeter’s third-inning home run of Tampa Bay Rays’ pitcher David Price was the hit that had him reach 3,000 and Jeter became only the second player in history to reach that milestone number with a home run – joining former teammate and fellow Hall of Famer Wade Boggs. This ball is an Official Allan H. Selig stamped ball that has rubbed in dirt on all the panels and was made game-ready for the July 9th game. The letter “J” is stamped in black above the MLB logo stamp and the number “6” is stamped below as MLB marked potential baseballs that could have been hit for 3,000. Jeter has signed his name in blue pen across the sweet spot. This ball comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ645134), which authenticates that this ball was made game-ready on July 9th, 2011 and marked “J6” for Derek Jeter’s 3,000 hit chase, plus a LOA from Steiner Sports (182875). Additionally, there is a COA from Steiner Sports for Jeter’s signature.
