Though there were a few bright spots during the season with Dale Alexander, Charlie Gehringer, Billy Rogell and John Stone topping the .300 batting mark, each pitcher, including Hoyt, posted losing records. Inscribed "Detroit – 1931" in green ink, notable autographs include Hall of Fame manager Bucky Harris (4-5), ace Earl Whitehill (4) on the sweet spot, 3X World Series champ Joe Dugan, Hall of Famers Waite Hoyt (4) also in green and Chas. Gehringer (5) in black, 6X All-Star Tommy Bridges (3-4) and four-time All-Star Whit Wyatt, Harry Walker, Elon Hogsett, Wally Schang, George Uhle, Frank Doljack, Bill Akers and Ray Hayworth among others .
