1985 Dominique Wilkins Atlanta Hawks Signed Game Used Brooks Sneakers JSA MEARS
Offered is a pair of Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins signed game-worn sneakers, circa 1985. The sneakers originate from a former Detroit Pistons ball boy, who served in the role for three seasons from 1983-1986. He has provided a letter of provenance detailing their history. After games, especially when working in the visitor's locker rooms, our consignor would ask players for their shoes. While most players would say no, some said yes, including Wilkins. The offered sneakers (size 13), a pair of white with red trim Brooks, display heavy wear. A black labeling tag reading "D. Wilkins" is affixed to the left sneaker. Wilkins has signed the left sneaker above the labeling tag. He has added his uniform number "21" below his signature. Dominique Wilkins joined the Atlanta Hawks in the 1982-1983 season. A nine-time All-Star Game selection (all with the Hawks), Wilkins averaged 24.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game throughout his sixteen-year career. In 2001 the Hawks honored Wilkins' accomplishments and contributions to the team by retiring his number "21." He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006. Full LOA from MEARS. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
