1989 Pittsburgh Pirates home jersey belonging to pitcher Bob Patterson, a steady journeyman who pitched for 13 seasons between 1985 and 1998, doing time with five different teams in the process, compiling a 39-40 record, mostly in relief. In 1989, Patterson posted a 4-3 record with a 4.05 ERA and one save, in 12 games pitched. His next season, Patterson would become a valuable part of the Pirates bullpen, and he would pitch in at least 50 games a season for all but one of the next 7 years.
