Randy Johnson signed and inscribed game used baseball from Perfect Game pitched on May 18, 2004. This official MLB baseball was used in this historic game and has been signed on the sweet spot by Johnson with his adjacent notation “Perfect Game 5-18-04”. The ball features a MLB hologram with certification number MR546231. An accompanying letter of provenance signed by Randy Johnson himself best captures the significance of this important pair of items. It reads, “To Whom It May Concern: I am very pleased to guarantee this Official Major League baseball was used during the Perfect Game that I pitched for the Arizona Diamondbacks on May 18, 2004 at Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia. It has an Official Major League Baseball hologram authenticating it and is numbered MR546231. I have signed and inscribed the ball referencing this milestone. That was an especially thrilling achievement for me not only because it is only one of 18 perfect games to be thrown in Major League history, but at the age of 40, I was over 3 years older than the second oldest man to perform such a feat – the great Cy Young himself. Young was ‘only’ 37 and I was 40 years, 7 months old! Being a 5-time Cy Young winner myself, any achievement comparing me to Cy Young is especially thrilling to me. Also, I am including and signing a full ticket for that game for your enjoyment. It also has a Major League Baseball official hologram and is numbered MT00453171. This baseball and the ticket from that very game come from my private collection. This signed ball and ticket represents one of the greatest days in my baseball career and I truly hope you enjoy them. Yours, Randy Johnson.” The ball shows game use. An additional COA from JSA accompanied the ball.
