Presented is a game-used Official Major League Allen H. Selig baseball that has been signed on the sweet spot in blue ink by former Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay and his catcher, Carlos Ruiz. Below Halladay's signature, the ball is inscribed "NH 10-6-10." This ball was used in the fourth inning of Game 1 of the 2010 NLDS series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Cincinnati Reds, contested at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Oct. 6, 2010. Despite collecting 148 wins while a member of the Toronto Blue Jays, this was Halladay's first-ever postseason start; in that playoff debut, he twirled a magical no-hitter, striking out 8 and allowing only one baserunner during Philadelphia's 4-0 victory. This was only the second no-hitter in MLB postseason history, and the first since Don Larsen's perfect game during the 1956 World Series. In the fourth inning, Halladay pitched this ball to Cincinnati infielder Brandon Phillips, who fouled it off for a strike. Phillips ultimately struck out on five pitches. The ball is also signed by Halladay's battery-mate, Carlos Ruiz, who reached base twice in three plate appearances in the game. The Phillies defeated Cincinnati in a three-game sweep, advancing to the NLCS to play the year's eventual World Series champions, the San Francisco Giants. Sadly, Halladay passed away in 2017 at the age of 40. Comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ007894) for the game use.
