Wilbert Robinson Sweet Spot Signed 1927 Game Used National League Baseball JSA

$4,999.00

Official National League baseball (Heydler) signed by Hall of Famers Wilbert Robinson (manager) and Max Carey (outfielder) as members of the Brooklyn Robins in 1927. Robinson's signature is scripted in black fountain pen across the sweet spot, and Carey placed his on the side panel directly below the sweet spot. The date "July 31 - 27" is noted on a side panel. This date represents a doubleheader played between the Brooklyn Robins and Cincinnati Reds. The scores of both games are noted on an adjacent side panel. According to the JSA letter, "the inscription was penned in an unknown hand." Wilbert Robinson and Max Carey single-signed balls are quite rare. Given the location of each signature, the ball could display as either a Robinson or Carey single if desired.  All of the manufacturer's labels remain bold. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
