1942 USS Constitution Signed Baseball Sunset League Championship USN US Navy
[US Naval History]. Game Used Ball. USS Constitution "Old Ironsides" (September, 1942).
The ball is signed by fifteen different players. There is as well the following inscription: "U.S.S. Constitution - The last ball in play which decided the championship of the Sunset League at Newport R.I. The ball was caught by Mid [illegible] USN. September [ILLEGIBLE] 1942."
An unusual piece of Americana combining the national flagship with the national pastime.
