The 1934 Detroit Tigers season was the 34th season for the Detroit Tigers since entering the American League in 1901. The Tigers won the American League pennant with a record of 101–53, the best winning percentage in team history. The team made its fourth World Series appearance but lost the 1934 World Series to the St. Louis Cardinals 4 games to 3.

1934 Detroit Tigers Yearbook – This is one of the earliest signed yearbooks published by a big-league ball club, and it’s a beauty published by the American League champion Detroit Tigers.  The book has photos been signed by (18 ) and bios of all of the players  – including Hall of Famer Mickey Cochrane (who was the player-manager or the team) as well as other Hall members Hank Greenberg, Charlie Gehringer, and Goose Goslin.  Other notables on the team were Carl Fischer, Tommy Bridges, Pete Fox,  Chief Hogsett, Marvin Owen, Bill Rogell, Victor Sorrell,  JoJo White, Eldon L. Auker, Flea Clifton, Frank Doljack, Heinie Schuble, Denny Carroll, and Del Barker. There’s also a brief history of baseball in the Motor City and a great double-spread photo of Navin Field.
