$3,495.00

WW2-era 1944 Joe DiMaggio signed and personalized MLB baseball that reads “To my good friend Bill Rich, With Best Wishes, Joe DiMaggio"

Joe Dimaggio Signed World War 2 Official National League Baseball

(Spalding Official National League, “Special Services U.S. Army”)
From the original Owner:

My grandfather, Wilhelm “Bill” Rich, served in the army as a driver based in Fort Dix, New Jersey from 1943 to 1945 during the second world war. As part of World War II, he often drove high-ranking military officials to war bond drives in the New York City area such as exhibition baseball games with many MLB teams including the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Brooklyn Dodgers, to raise money for the war effort.

This ball was signed in 1944, after my grandfather for whatever reason (official or otherwise) gave Mr. DiMaggio a ride in his army jeep. The baseball was signed and brought home, and sat on a shelf in my grandparents’ house ever since.

Comes with full letter JSA COA.
