Mariano Rivera "Final Save" Signed 2009 World Series Game Used Baseball Steiner
Presented is a limited-edition (#12/20) official World Series Allan Selig baseball used during Game 4 of the 2009 World Series between the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies on Nov. 1, 2009. After dropping Game 1 of the World Series in New York, the Yankees rattled off consecutive wins in Game 2 and Game 3 to give themselves a chance to take a commanding 3-1 series lead heading into Game 4. At Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, the Yankees entered the top of the 9th inning in a 4-4 tie. After Phillies relieve Brad Lidge retired the first two batters in short order, Yankees outfielder Johnny Damon singled and stole two bases to reach third base. After Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira was hit by a pitch to set up runners on the corners, consecutive doubles by Alex Rodriguez and Jorge Posada resulted in a back-breaking trio of runs scoring, setting up legendary closer Mariano Rivera for a relatively stress-free bottom of the 9th inning to secure the Yankees their third win of the series. The offered baseball has been signed by Rivera, who has penned his flowing signature in blue ballpoint pen across the panel containing the official World Series stamp. Rivera has added the inscription "Final WS Save" and "09 WS Champs." The baseball comes with an MLB Authenticated Hologram (LH428121). Comes with Steiner COA.
