Beautiful 1964 New York Yankees AL Champs Team Signed Baseball Mickey Mantle PSA
Winning 99 regular-season games, the 1964 New York Yankees were the last edition of the great Bronx dynasty that could trace its origins back to the ’47 season. Even though the team had some fresh blood in the likes of pitcher Jim Bouton and first baseman Joe Pepitone, the team was top heavy with aging stars such as Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford (both are present on this ball). Though they lost in seven games to the N.L. Champion St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series, the ’64 Yankees were still the top A.L. team that year. Twenty-two members of the ’64 Yankees have signed this Official National League (Giles) baseball in blue ink including longtime Hall of Fame Manager Casey Stengel. Mantle’s signature appears on the sweet spot. Other Hall of Famers who graced this baseball include Whitey Ford (twice) and Yogi Berra (who was serving that season as manager) and even a retired Bill Dickey. Other notables on the baseball include Tony Kubek, Clete Boyer, Roger Maris, Art Ditmar, Ralph Terry and a young, 23-year-old Joe Pepitone. The signatures display very nicely against the virtually untoned surface. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
