Presented is a Mickey Mantle signed 1950s glove. The decade of the 1950s was when Mickey Mantle was at his best. Mantle played his entire 18-year Major League career with the New York Yankees. Although Mantle had fine seasons from 1960-62, in his final six seasons (1963-68) injuries and age combined to slow his production and make him more like an ordinary hitter. Mantle broke in with the Yankees in 1951. Along the way, with 536 home runs, he became the switch-hitter with the most home runs in baseball history. He was the American league MVP in 1956 - and won the Triple Crown, '57 and '62. Mantle was a key part of seven World Championship teams. The offered glove is a Rawlings HG 80 "Major League" Mickey Mantle model. The glove measures approx. 9" from the bottom to top. In the pocket is a facsimile Mickey Mantle signature. The leather stringing on the inner and lower part of wrist/palm area is broken. There is a Rawlings tag strap on the outside part of the wrist. The glove shows nice wear - especially with the leather stringing and on the on the fourth finger on the pocket side of the glove. The glove is well broken in, and despite the wear, in good condition. Mantle signed in black ink from a marker. The glove is dated "8/28/90," also in black marker, under Mantle's signature on the glove on the inside pinkie finger. The signed glove comes with a PSA LOA.
