Presented from Hall of Famer Karl Malone's personal collection is a custom 1997 Texas Rangers jersey signed and inscribed by Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan. A devastating power pitcher, Ryan pitched a record-shattering 7 no-hitters and his 5,714 career strikeouts rank first in baseball history by a significant margin. The offered home white jersey features "RANGERS" arched across the chest in red-on-blue tackle twill, with red piping running down each side of the buttons and around the neck. A "TEXAS RANGERS BASEBALL CLUB" patch is sewn on the left sleeve, with a "Jackie Robinson 50th anniversary" patch resting on the right sleeve above a Russell Athletic "R" logo that’s embroidered in red. On the jersey's left tail is a Russell Athletic/MLB Diamond Collection size "48" tag. On the back of the jersey "MALONE" and "32" are applied in red-on-blue tackle twill. Nolan Ryan has signed the jersey in blue marker in the center of the white fabric between the name and numbers, and has inscribed "To Karl, Great MVP year 97". This jersey is in great condition, displaying only the faintest signs of wear. This item comes with an LOA from Beckett Authentication Services (AB73525) for the signature and inscription.
