Wilson official American Association ball signed in blue ink by 11 members of the 1956 Indianapolis Indians, including Roger Maris (twice), Stu Locklin, Stan Pitula, Ted Beard, Dick Tomanek, Alan Jone, and Russ Nixon. 1956 represented Roger Maris' final season in the minors before moving up to the Cleveland Indians in 1957. While his power numbers gave no hint of his future deeds, Maris did enjoy a fine season with Indianapolis that summer, finishing the season with 17 home runs, 75 RBI, and a .293 batting average. Pre-rookie era Maris signed items are extremely rare. This ball represents a fascinating and very historic relic from the earliest playing days of the former single-season home run king.
