Official American League (Budig) ball signed in blue ink by fourteen pitchers who have thrown a perfect game. A perfect game is perhaps the most difficult feat in all of baseball. To put the accomplishment in proper perspective, one only has to note that in the entire history of the game only twenty-three pitchers have been officially credited with achieving "perfection" on the mound. This remarkable ball features the signatures of the following 14 members of that elite club: Don Larsen (sweet spot), Sandy Koufax, Catfish Hunter, Jim Bunning, David Cone, Mike Witt, Dallas Braden, Matt Cain, David Wells, Dennis Martinez, Len Barker, Kenny Rogers, Tom Browning, and Randy Johnson. All but Johnson have included the date of their perfect game below their signature. The signatures are all fairly uniform in grade and average "8." One important fact that must be noted is that of the twenty-three perfect games recorded, two were accomplished in 1880 (by Montgomery Ward and Lee Richmond) and three others (by Cy Young, Addie Joss, and Charlie Robertson) occurred between the years 1904 and 1922. Therefore, a "perfect game" ball featuring the eighteen signatures of the pitchers who accomplished the feat after 1956 is considered complete by modern-day collecting standards. (The four missing signatures on the ball are those of Roy Halladay, Philip Humber, Mark Buehrle, and Felix Hernandez.)  Full LOA from James Spence/JSA (a corresponding JSA authentication label, along with a handwritten serial number, appear on the ball label).
