Cal Ripken, Jr. represented the Orioles at the 1998 All-Star Game held in Colorado. Starting at 3rd base, Cal went 1-for-4 in the game, his one hit coming in the 4th off Tom Glavine, a run-scoring double to right. This gray road jersey was worn by Ripken during the All-Star Game and has been photo matched by Resolution Photomatching. This jersey features “Orioles” across the chest and Ripken’s number “8” below in orange, white and black tackle twill. Both sleeve ends have black piping while the left has the oriole bird patch and the right has the custom 1998 All Star Game patch. The left front tail has the Russell size 48 label with “100% POLYESTER” and “1998” strip tags below. The back has “RIPKEN” across the shoulders on a grey nameplate above his number “8” in orange and black tackle twill. The jersey shows moderate game use with minimal scuffs and toning throughout. This All-Star gamer has been signed on the front in black marker with “1998 ALL STAR GAME.” The matching grey road pants has black piping down each leg. The Russell size 38 label in the waistband with a “H-CUT -1” WAIST” hang tag and “8 RIPKEN 37/40-34-98” strip tag. The pants show good game use with a noticeable stain on the back of the right knee. A bold Ripken signature is on the left thigh in black marker. This also comes with a LOA from Resolution Photomatching (426656), who have photo matched this jersey to the 1998 All-Star Game played on July 7th, 1998.
