After earning MVP honors in 1988 with his 40-40 season, Jose Canseco had an injury-plagued 1989 and was on the comeback trail in 1990, belting 37 HRS with  101 RBIs. All while juiced, of course. Offered is his Rawlings size-50 home jersey featuring an embroidered set label ("2 90") on the inside left front tail, as well as a PSA/DNA sticker authenticating Canseco's black-marker signature. 

 
Authenticator Phil Wood's LOA concludes, "I can easily sit back and say that this is an authentic 1990 Oakland A's jersey. It has all of the basics you'd look for: correct manufacturer, proper size and tagging. The stains mentioned earlier are interesting but inconsistent. If it's just dirt, a proper laundering should have removed most of them. However, the appliques (logo, numbers, name on back) show no evidence of being washed. there should be some slight puckering, particularly on the digits, but there's none. Jose Canseco may have indeed had this shirt on his back for a short period of time, but I find actual game wear almost impossible to detect. Having covered MLB as a radio-TV reporter for almost 40 years, and being acquainted with numerous equipment managers, I've watched uniforms being laundered up close, and seen how polyester fabric sheds stains (other than blood and some food products) with ease in cold water washes. As I said, this is a genuine Athletics jersey of 1990 vintage; beyond that, I would need some psychic abilities."
