Presented is an autographed photo of a former baseball announcer of recreated games of the Chicago Cubs, written to a former left-handed pitcher, mostly for the Montreal Royals minor league team. The baseball announcer recreated games from a telegraph feed for WHO Radio in Des Moines, Iowa, and he later became a big movie star (in one film portraying Hall of Fame hurler Grover Cleveland Alexander) and later the President of the United States. The former Montreal Royals hurler pitched briefly in the Majors for Brooklyn and Kansas City, and then went on to have a Hall of Fame career as a major league manager with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 7.5x7.5" color photo shows President Reagan shaking Tommy Lasorda's hand, and it is an official White House photo, taken and signed while Reagan was still the President. The inscription on the front of the photo reads, "Dear Jo & Tommy - Again Congratulations & Warmest Regard Nancy and Ron." The signed photograph comes with a PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity. The photo is EX-MT, and the signatures (signed as Nancy and Ron) are mint. This represents a unique baseball connection between a sitting President of the United States and the popular manager.
