Incredible lot of game used memorabilia from the great Pete Rose. 1950's Catchers mitt and chest protector that Pete would sometimes wear while catching for his little league team. Both the glove and chest protector is signed.
Presented is a Rawlings catcher's mitt and chest protector attributed to Pete Rose as a Little Leaguer c. 1950s. Both the mitt and chest protector has been signed by Rose, who has penned his flowing signature in blue marker across the back of the retail model catcher's glove and the bottom of the chest protector. The retail model Rawlings Royal Label catcher's mitt exhibits outstanding use, most notably in the pocket, face of the web, and throughout the body of the glove. An LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00609) accompanies the glove, while an LOA from JT Sports (1034) accompanies the chest protector for authenticity. Additionally, an LOA from JSA (BB32043) covers the signature on the glove. A pair of Letters of Provenance from Charles R. Meyers and Marges Howes accompany the lot, detailing Rose's nascent baseball career as an undersized Little Leaguer who wanted to be a catcher before becoming baseball's all-time Hit King.
