1951 Joe DiMaggio Game Used, Signed Final Out Baseball from The Gene Woodling Collection. The New York Yankees were accustomed to winning in the late '40's and 1950's. The team always fielded a competitive squad, capable of winning the World Series. This Official American League (Harridge) baseball was caught by Joe DiMaggio to end a game in August of 1951 against Cleveland. The particulars are listed on a side panel: "Last Out Caught By [Joe DiMaggio autograph] Cleveland Series Aug. 23-24-25 - 1951." And "Ball Caught by DiMaggio in 1951." The three game series saw the Yankees win August 24 (2-0) and August 25 (7-0) so we are safe in assuming it was used in one of those two contests. DiMaggio signed a side panel in strong black ink.  Letter of provenance from family of Gene Woodling. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
