The 1962 Buckeyes were a powerhouse, finishing the season with an impressive 26-2 record and securing the top spot in the final AP Poll while dominating the Big Ten. This era was nothing short of legendary, as these Buckeyes made three consecutive National Championship appearances from 1960 to 1962, claiming the title in 1960 and narrowly falling to Cincinnati in both '61 and '62. During the 1962 season, Jerry Lucas dazzled on the court with an average of 21.8 points per game, while John Havlicek was a close second, averaging 17 points.
