Official American League (Harridge) baseball boldly signed on the sweet spot in blue fountain pen by 1927 NY Yankee Ben Paschal. Paschal will always be one of baseball's immortals, as a member of the 1927 Yankees. In 50 games, Paschal hit .317 for the 1927 Yankees. He went on to finish his eight-year career with a .309 lifetime batting average. The 1927 Yankees have always been a very popular area of collector interest. Paschal is an extremely rare '27 Yankee single. In fact, this is the first single-signed Paschal ball we have ever seen. This ball was once a part of the collection of James Armstrong, one of the all-time greats in the world of collecting. Armstrong amassed one of the largest baseball autograph collections ever assembled in the 1940s, '50s, and '60s, including many single-signed balls of players which are the only examples known today. Paschal passed away in 1974.
