Bernie Williams Day was held by the New York Yankees on May 24, 2015 at Yankee Stadium that featured the retirement of his #51 and his enshrinement in Monument Park prior to the Yankees' 5-2 loss to the Texas Rangers. Williams, who spent all of his illustrious 16-year career in Yankee pinstripes, was given the honor of being immortalized in Monument Park and his jersey retired. Williams is a five-time All-Star, a four-time World Series champion, the 1998 AL batting champion, and a four-time Gold Glove Award winner who played center field for the Yankees during their most memorable late-century dominance of the MLB.
Offered here is a game used Official Major League Robert D. Manfred baseball used during the May 24, 2015 game between the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees and signed by Williams. Williams signed and inscribed "#51 Retired 5/24/15" on the west panel of this offered Rawlings baseball with a blue ballpoint pen. The signature and inscription are bold, and the ball displays excellent evidence of game use and contains dirt stains, scuffs, and paint transfers.
