Bob Dylan—the first and only musician to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature—has placed his black ink signature on the brim of this limited edition hat, adding the salutation "Best Wishes" before his autograph. Dylan has charted one of the most successful, influential, and varied careers in music history, beginning as a singer of folk standards and weaving through protest music, surrealism, electric rock, country music, religious music, Delta blues, and pop over the course of 40 albums (as well as scores of compilations, non-album singles, Bootleg Series issuances, live recordings, and soundtrack contributions). He has established himself as the premier lyricist in the history of American popular music, as well as one of the foremost stewards of the nation's roots music tradition. Continuously active since the early 1960s, Dylan's most recent studio album of new original material—2020's Rough And Rowdy Ways—received universal acclaim, and the 84-year-old icon continues to tour with a regularity that puts much-younger artists to shame. The hat is primarily beige with a patterned hatband on which several small trinkets and charms hang. On the inside of the hat's crown, the serial-numbered "23/50" is struck in an unknown hand. The hat comes with an LOP from Jeff Rosen, a longtime associate of Dylan who serves as the president of the Bob Dylan Music Company; the LOP asserts that Dylan signed 50 of these hats in 2022-23. The hat also comes with an LOA from JSA for Dylan's signature. The item displays a favorable manner of appearance.
