Official National League baseball (Heydler) signed in black fountain pen by the following twenty-seven members of the 1925 World Champion Pittsburgh Pirates: Bill McKechnie (manager, sweet spot), Pie Traynor, Fred Clarke (coach), Kiki Cuyler, Max Carey, Barnhart, Meadows, Grantham, Spencer, McInnis, Yde, Bigbee, Gooch, Morrison, Haas (sweet spot), Moore, Rawlings, Smith, Aldridge, Kremer, Culloton, Sheehan (sweet spot), Adams, Ens, Wright, Thompson, and Onslow (coach). The notation "Pittsburgh World Champions 1925" is written atop the manufacturer's stampings. This is a remarkably complete Pirates team ball from the club's 1925 Championship season, featuring all nine starters and five future Hall of Famers, including Fred Clarke, who served as a coach with the club only for the 1925 season (he had a long tenure as the club's player/manager during the early 1900s, leading the team to four pennants and one World Championship). Team-signed balls dating from the 1920s are rare, especially those of Championship clubs. It remains in Excellent condition overall.
