Historic Clayton Kershaw MLB Debut Signed Inscribed Game Used Baseball Steiner

$14,995.00

A great piece of baseball history, presented is one of the baseballs from Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw's very first Major League game. The baseball world was centered on Dodger Stadium the afternoon of May 25, 2008, when Kershaw took the mound against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals.

Kershaw's story began at Highland Park High School, where he averaged more than two strikeouts per inning and pitched an all-strike-out perfect game in the playoffs before it was prematurely ended out of mercy for the opposing team. USA Today proclaimed him "High School Pitcher of the Year," and the Dodgers shelled out 2.3 million to get his signature on a contract. Kershaw did not disappoint in his debut, as he pitched 6 solid innings, allowing only 2 earned runs on 5 hits, and struck out 7 batters as the Dodgers edged the Cardinals 4-3 in 10 innings, with Kershaw getting a no-decision.

This offered baseball has the Official Major League Allan H. Selig stamp and was used in the 6th inning. The ball displays some use, with rubdown marks and other markings. Kershaw signed this ball on the sweet spot in blue pen only four days after his debut, inscribing "1st MLB Start 5/25/08 7 K's" on the panel above his signatures. This ball comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (LH019667), authenticating the game use and that Kershaw signed this ball on May 29, 2008, at a Steiner Sports signing. Additionally, there are two stickers from Steiner Sports, one for the game use and one for Kershaw's signature. Comes with full letter COA from Steiner.
