Vintage photo of Joe DiMaggio as a member of the U.S. Army circa 1940s. DiMaggio (back row, second from left ) has signed the photo in blue ink across his image. DiMaggio served from 1943-1945 as a member of the Air Force, rising to the rank of Sergeant. He is pictured here as a member of the 663rd pre-flight training squadron out of the Santa Ana, California. Other notables who are pictured and have signed include basketball Hall of Famer Lauren "Laddie" Gale (back row, center), tennis Hall of Famer Fred Perry (back row, third from right), and legendary football coach Homer Beatty (back row, second from right). The photo (9 x 7-1/4 inches, visible dimensions) is in apparent Good condition overall. A sheet identifying the individuals pictured is included in the frame and visible on the reverse. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 18 x 16 inches.
