Presidential single-signed baseballs dating from the 1950s are highly desirable and rare. This single-signed ball by Harry S. Truman, 33rd president of the United States, is an extreme rarity. Truman has signed the official American League baseball (Harridge) in bold black fountain pen across the sweet spot. He has added the date "6-27-59" and his hometown "Independence, MO." directly below his signature. Truman's name "Harry Truman" is printed on a side panel in blue ink. Truman was a great fan of our national pastime. The record shows that Truman attended more Major League games than any other U. S. President, including eight season openers in Washington where he threw out the ceremonial first pitch. For anyone attempting to assemble a complete run of signed presidential baseballs, this is an extremely rare opportunity. In Excellent condition overall. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
