RARE Fred Tenney (Dec. 1953) Single Signed Heavily Inscribed National League Baseball.
Tenney was known for being a defensive wiz at first base and for being credited for originating the 3-6-3 double play. He played for the Boston Beaneaters/Doves/Rustlers from 1894-1906, 1911 and with the New York Giants in 1908-1909. He led the National League in runs scored in 1908 and finished his career with over 2,200 hits and a respectable .294 batting average. Offered is a very scarce Official Ford Frick National League baseball signed by Tenney on a side panel in black fountain pen with added “Boston Natl. 1894-1907 Giants 1908-10 Boston 1911” inscriptions.
