Willard Brown Single Signed Baseball. He was the first black player to hit a home run in the American League, but the tremendous racism he encountered in St. Louis, and his frustration at the lack of talent of his fellow Browns, drove him from the Major Leagues after just twenty-one games. The 2006 Hall of Fame inductee and Negro League legend presents an enormous challenge to those many collectors checking inductees off a list. Ball is stamped "1982 Negro League Players Reunion." Brown makes full use of a lightly speckled side panel to host his blue ink signature, creating a rarity that today stands as just his third single to ever come to market. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
