Stan Musial 1947 Game Used Louisville Slugger Bat PSA DNA 8 Outstanding Use
In defense of their World Series title, the 1947 St. Louis Cardinals boasted their usual heroic cast as big league rosters were again at full strength. The main attraction, of course, Stan Musial performed to rave reviews, as always, warranting MVP consideration for the fifth of sixteen straight seasons. With nineteen homers, 95 RBI and a .312 average to his credit, "Stan the Man" helped keep the Redbirds in contention—despite their uncharacteristically slow start. In the N.L. cellar as late as June 3, the Cards stalked front-running Brooklyn throughout the summer, finally succumbing as a six-game skid from September 13-18 was the telling factor in finishing five games off the pace. Here offered is an original Hillerich & Bradsby "M117" signature model bat ably employed by the Gateway City Hall of Famer during that '47 campaign.
The bat measures 34" inches and weighs 32.2-oz. . The bat shows outstanding game use, with ball and red bat-rack marks throughout. The bat had crack that has been repaired. Graded GU-8 by John Taube. Full letter LOA from John Taube/PSA DNA
