It took ninety-eight loooong years, but the Philadelphia Phillies finally claimed Major League Baseball's top prize in 1980. A formidable line-up of All-Stars and a solid pitching staff lead by Steve Carlton had the Phils in contention since 1975, but they failed to get past the Reds and Dodgers to reach the World Series. Then in 1979 they named fiery Dallas Green manager and signed free agent sparkplug Pete Rose and with Mike Schmidt enjoying his first of three MVP seasons, the "Fightin' Phils" sent the "City of Brotherly Love" ballistic with a triumph over the Kansas City Royals in the 1980 World Series.

The wild scene from the clinching Game 6 of the '80 WS is captured with the offered vintage original photo, which is signed in red by (35) members and associates of the 1980 Phillies team. This 11x14 photo is professionally framed and matted to overall dimensions of 21-1/2 x 17-1/2" in a display that presents in excellent condition.  Full photo LOA from PSA/DNA.
