An all-Canadian match-up with the most successful team of the 1980s taking on the most successful club in history, the 2003 Heritage Classic featured the Edmonton Oilers battling the Montreal Canadiens at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, on Nov 22, 2003. The preliminary event was the MegaStars game with some of the best former players from both clubs, with the Oilers represented by the best players from their 1980s dynasty, led by Wayne Gretzky, while the Canadiens were represented by players from their 1970s dynasty, led by Guy Lafleur. The Oilers veterans took the contest, shutting out the Habs 2-0. This Oilers jersey was signed by members of Edmonton's MegaStars team.
